Spinning World

Hey, I’m Prithviraj Das Gupta.

I started Spinning World Productions in 2021, between Mumbai and the hills of Kalimpong. It began with a simple intention to tell honest stories that come from real people and real places. Over time, it has grown into something larger: a space where I make my own films, and also help other filmmakers shape and present theirs to the world. 

 

​As a filmmaker, I write, direct, edit, and produce my own work. My films like Green Blackberries and Clinton have travelled across international festivals and distributed to platforms like Apple Tv and Amazon Prime. 

​

​Spinning World is built on collaboration. We bring together local talent from Kalimpong and experienced collaborators from Mumbai.

​​Alongside our own films, a big part of what we do is trailers and promotional campaigns. We work closely with independent filmmakers to help them present their films better, through trailers and campaign design that can connect with audiences and festivals. 

We have worked on internationally recognised films, creating promotional content for films like Stolen (Amazon Prime), Shape of Momo (Busan), Love in Porn (Festival De Cannes), and Zataari Djinn (IDFA Winner). Our work in this space was recognised with a Promax Asia Gold Award in 2022.

We also collaborate on branded content and commercial films, working with brands like Tata Motors, CEAT Tyres, Sterling Holidays. These projects allow us to explore a more audience-driven arena, while still holding on to strong storytelling. We have also collaborated with Warner Music India, and have created visually driven, contemporary music videos in the mountains that connects with a younger audience.

​This mix allows us to stay rooted, while also working at a wider scale.

We work independently, without the backing of large studios. 

​

We have recently produced our first mini series titled 'Papa Ki Picture'. It was Premiered in Indian Film Festival of Amsterdam and Melbourne respectively. Our first full length feature film production 'Journey of Joy' is currently in Post-Production.

Right now, we are focused on developing our next feature films, with the aim of taking them to a global stage through festivals and international collaborations.

For me personally, this is not just a company. It is a space to keep telling stories honestly, and to keep building something meaningful, step by step.
